Psycho Slots - Promotional Online Game
Client: Psychopathic Records

Flash, Actionscript 3.0, XML, Photoshop

The Psycho Slots is a slot-machine like game to stimulate webstore sales by giving away online coupons. Odds are handled through a backend database, with results fed to the front-end Flash (via XML) for display. Players are trying for coupons for varying percentages off of their entire webstore order as well as free merchandise. Once they have a coupon code, players have the options to make a print-out or email the code all right from the Flash page.

HBStubbs.com
Client: H.B. Stubbs Company

Flash, Actionscript

The H.B. Stubbs Company wanted to update their corporate website with the latest technology to match the style of their new marketing material. The content they were looking to present was light, as largely they were looking to impress people and generate leads more than they wanted to inform the audience about their capabilities. As a result, the website uses an unconventional navigation interface. Yet, maintenance of the website was still a concern, so the entire site was developed to use external text files and SWF documents that could be updated by technical staff not familiar with Flash.

Automotive Web-Based Training Courses
Client: Universal Technical Institute

Flash, Actionscript 2.0, XML, SCORM

While with Raytheon Professional Services I developed multiple automotive web-based training courses for their client, Universal Technical Institute (UTI). These courses were developed very rapidly, working with Instructional System Designers (ISDs) and Subject-Matter Experts (SMEs) to insure that the learning content is both easy-to-follow and technically-accurate. Each project used technically-accurate animations and illustrations along with adaptable standardized Flash design models, XML-driven content, and a custom learning content-management-system.

GM Virtual Shows
Client: GM

Flash

While with the H.B.Stubbs Company I worked alongside account executives to produce website productions such as this one for a couple of GM's trade shows. With the post-show website, the idea was to provide a resource to reinforce ideas presented at the trade show, as well as provide a handy resource for contact information and papers for download; as such, it largely is a floorplan of the show with a listing of the various attendees. The pre-show website was designed for more functionality, including developing an itinerary. Both websites were presented as additional marketing support for trade show exhibits produced by H.B.Stubbs Company.

Onstar Batman Challenge: Matching Promotion
Client: Onstar

Flash

As part of the promotional campaign Onstar did with Campbell-Ewald, an online comic book was created featuring Batman (with the OnStar system put in place on the Batmobile). This module was supporting advertisement following up that promotion. A basic memory game, the main idea was to promote Onstar's latest features. (If you're looking to win faster, type 'HINT' to make all the pieces transparent, making it much easier to find matches.)

Developed as a mini-game for the online comic, Simon is Serious was a memory puzzle the viewer had to overcome to proceed. It was important not to let the story become completely bogged down should the puzzle prove too challenging, so Batman will automatically solve the puzzle should time get too low. Developed on a dynamic system so the puzzle was different each time, I later added an interface for this mini-game so the user could customize the challenge.

Client: Psychopathic Records

Fireworks, Photoshop, Project Management, Process Development

The home for all of the artists of Psychopathic Records to sell their merchandise, HatchetGear.com is a full-on, custom-built webstore developed completely in-house. The volume of merchandise for the webstore is massive and ever-changing, calling for an elegant, efficient layout. Each artist has their own branding to allow them to stand on their own while still being part of the greater website. The website is designed to scale in multiple directions to accommodate larger monitors, and care was taken to make sure functionality wasn't compromised on smaller screens.

Zone Zeal Simulator
Client: FIRST Robotics

Flash

FIRST Robotics is an organization that teams up professional engineers with high school students to construct a robot for play in an involved game, all for the purpose of giving students hands-on experience with robotics. Each year they have a different game with different rules and scoring methods, often making it very difficult to develop the best strategy for the highest score. This is where this simulator comes in. The idea is to have a graphical interface to make it practical for maximizing their scoring options, and explain the game to those unfamiliar with the competition. This simulator is for the 2002 FIRST Game: Zone Zeal. Using similar methods I developed simulators for the 2001 competition as well as the 2000 Chief Delphi Invitational

Flash, Photoshop

This is an eCard sent out to promote Insane Clown Posse's 2004 album 'The Wraith: Hell's Pit'. Utilizing a simple scene and some basic animation, this eCard was designed to spread fan awareness of the album release date as well as drive traffic into InsaneClownPosse.com.

MortonsList.com
Client: Dark Carnival Games LLC

Flash, Actionscript, PHP

This project was the original incarnation of the website for "Morton's List: The End to Boredom". Essentially a random activity generator, the book contains dozens and dozens of activity ideas to do when you have no idea what to do, and a simple game system to arbitrarily decide which activity to undertake. Coupled with an appreciation of mysticism and a good sense of humor, this website mirrors the branding of the product. This website was designed to be updated from simple text files, allowing almost anyone to add content with some simple training.

SoopaVillainz.com
Client: Soopa Villainz (ICP, Esham, Lavel)

Flash, Actionscript, Photoshop, Art Direction

One of Psychopathic Record's super-groups, Soopa Villainz was a collaboration between Insane Clown Posse's two members, the underground Detroit rap legend Esham, and music producer Lavel. Each member was given a different persona and written up as comic book villains. Being a side-project, the website parameters did not call for a tremendous amount of content, so this website focuses more on branding the Soopa Villainz as promotion for their album. The weeks preceding the debut of the record the site displayed progressively more detailed splash images, building up excitement for the album's release.

Timemaster
Client: Psychopathic Records

PHP, HTML, Project Management

What it lacks in appearance, it makes up for in utility. Timemaster was a system developed to increase office coordination for album releases. There are many minor yet important tasks involved with album releases that are easy to lose track of. Additionally, albums of larger scope take more time to get underway, and having an idea of when it would be best to start the project is very helpful. Timemaster was designed to solve all these problems and more. The concept is that a manager can fill out the basic form with details of the release as well as its supporting promotional projects, and generate a detailed timeline for production staff based on the project requirements.

Super Ninja Puzzle Master
Client: Acidflash Contest

The producers of the software "Acid" decided to hold a contest to showcase the best of what could come when using their music software with Flash. My longtime friend and fellow designer Eric Schultz talked me into co-developing this game as an entry. I designed the game functionality while he developed the soundtrack, which is assembled dynamically based on your performance in through play. We collectively developed the aesthetics and rules of the game.
